Social Events:

Welcome Reception:

All ICASSP 2012 attendees are invited to join us for the welcome reception at the Kyoto International Conference Center (Sakura, Swan, Main Lounge, Cocktail Lounge) from 5:30 PM on March 26, Monday. The ceremony of Kagamibiraki (opening Japanese sake cask) will be performed and sake together with other drinks and light appetizers will be served.

Banquet:

The banquet will take place at the Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto, next to the Conference venue, at 7 PM on March 28, Wednesday. Japanese traditional performance, featuring Maiko and Geiko (Geisha), will be performed before a full-course dinner will be served.

Complimentary Tea Ceremony

Would you like to experience the Japanese traditional tea ceremony? A tea ceremony class will be offered at a Japanese traditional Tea House "Hosho-an" in the Kyoto International Conference Center on Thursday, March 29. The class will be given in English, lasting 40 minutes. Please book a free ticket in advance at the cocktail lounge on the first floor of the KICC. Tickets will be available only on March 29, on the first-come-first-served basis.

Box Lunch:

Since the capacity of restaurants in the Conference venue and nearby is very limited, for those who want to take quick lunch we provide Japanese box lunches (sample). Box lunch tickets must be pre-purchased by March 9, 2012 and will not be available on site. Please note that cancellations of the lunch tickets after March 9 are not accepted, nor is switching between days. Requests for Halal and Kosher cannot be handled; please select "Vegetarian".
